African Footballer of the Year 2011 shortlist
MIDFIELD GENERAL ... Seydo Keita

Seydou Keita, Barcelona and Mali

MIDFIELDER Seydou Keita made more appearances than any other outfield player for star-studded Barcelona last term.

The Mali international featured in 56 games including a late substitute appearance in the Champions League final against Manchester United as Pep Guardiola's men won the La Liga and European titles.

Liverpool and Anzhi Makhatchkala have both been linked with moves for the 31-year-old now in his fourth season at the Nou Camp.

Keita retired from international football in 2010 but rejoined the Mali side at the end of the African Nations qualifiers and helped his team reach the finals.
