EASTERN PROMISE ... Asamoah Gyan
Asamoah Gyan, Al-Ain and Ghana
ASAMOAH GYAN became a fans' favourite on Wearside before controversially moving on a season-long loan to Al-Ain in United Arab Emirates.
After an impressive World Cup in South Africa, Sunderland broke their transfer fee record to sign Gyan and the Ghanaian bagged scored 10 goals for Steve Bruce's side last campaign.
But Gyan's relationship with the club turned sour and in September he left to play in the UAE where he is reported to be earning £6million during the spell of his loan.
The 25-year-old has scored three in three games for his new side and has an impressive record of 26 in 48 for his country, including an equaliser against England at Wembley in March.
