African Footballer of the Year 2011 shortlist
ROYAL TALENT ... Kevin-Prince Boateng

Kevin-Prince Boateng, AC Milan and Ghana

KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG retired from international football this week at the age of just 24 but was an integral part of the Ghana side that reached the African Cup of Nations finals.

The former Tottenham and Pompey midfielder impressed in Italy last season, making 34 appearances for AC Milan as they went on to pip rivals Inter for the Serie A crown.

He also played his part in Europe and was part of the Milan side who were dumped out of the Champions League last 16 by Spurs on his return to White Hart Lane.

Boateng has been in fine form so far this season with the highlight being a 14-minute hat-trick at Lecce to help Milan come from three behind to win 4-3.
