Zinedine Zidane’s son makes one of the worst goalkeeping howlers ever in UEFA Cup match

THE saying goes “like father, like son” – but in the case of Luca Zidane this couldn’t be further from the truth.
His dad – Zinedine Zidane – was one of the greatest footballers to have played the game – winning the Champions League, La Liga, World Cup and pretty much every other title.
And he has already won the Champions League with Real Madrid in his first spell as a manager.
But Zidane Jr doesn’t seem to have picked up quite the same talent.
The 18-year-old – who plays for Real Madrid’s reserve team – had an absolute clanger between the sticks in a UEFA Youth League match earlier today (November 2).
HOWLER: Luca Zidane conceded a shocking own goal
Los Blancos were leading 2-0 against Legia Warsaw with seconds remaining in stoppage time, when a Legia player sent in a harmless cross.
Any half-good keeper would have at this point caught the ball with ease and then wait for the final whistle to blow.
The youngster – however – isn’t a normal goalkeeper.
He decided to try and punch the ball away from his goal but failed miserably and ended up launching the ball skywards.
AWKWARD: Hopefully for Luca is dad wasn't watching
It looped over the young French international and landed on the goal line.
The keeper tried desperately to claw the ball away but his attempts were futile and he could only watch as the ball spun into the back of the net.
And it isn’t the first time the shot-stopper has made horrendous blunders.
He gifted Real Sociedad a goal in August after a terrible pass and even turned his back on a shot during a match against Paris Saint-Germain in April.
