Messi meets Murtaza at last

Almost a year on from the photo of the child wearing a plastic bag with Lionel Messi's name on the back went viral, the youngster in question has met his hero.

Murtaza Ahmadi, a five year old from Afghanistan, was photographed in 2015 with a vertical blue and white plastic bag on his back, in the style of an Argentina jersey.

As he couldn't afford a replica kit, the youngster had scrawled the name 'Messi' on to the bag, along with the no. 10.

After receiving some Messi jerseys in February from the player, Murtaza has now been pictured alongside the man himself, meeting him in Qatar.

Messi and Barcelona are currently there to play a friendly fixture and took advantage of the trip to arrange a meeting with the child from Afghanistan.
