Cambridge will have Reggie Lambe and Jack Roles back from international duty for the Sky Bet League Two match against Exeter.
Dan Jones managed to get through 45 minutes of a training match against Northampton in midweek as part of his recovery from a broken foot but is unlikely to be involved on Saturday.
Striker Harvey Knibbs played 90 minutes, while the club are waiting for scans to give an update on Samir Carruthers’ hamstring problem.
Greg Taylor is unlikely to feature due to illness while Liam O’Neil, who came off after nine minutes last weekend, has received an injection and will miss the game against the Grecians.
Nigel Atangana should continue to be eased back into action for Exeter.
Manager Matt Taylor said it could take some time before Atangana is fully fit and he has been getting minutes under his belt against Newport and Forest Green.
Lee Holmes and Gary Warren are expected to return to training in the near future following their respective injuries.
Forward Nicky Ajose remains sidelined following knee surgery and is joined on the long-term injury list by Lewis Ward, who has a broken arm.
