Stevens in line for Forest Green debut

Matty Stevens is in line for a quick-fire Forest Green debut in Saturday’s League Two clash with Oldham.

The 21-year-old former boxer could lead the FGR line at the New Lawn, having signed a three-year contract last week.

Bristol City loan midfielder James Morton and ex-Bristol Rovers goalkeeper Adam Smith are two more waiting in the wings for their competitive debuts.

Carl Winchester is a doubt after picking up a knee injury in pre-season.

Former Manchester United winger Chris Eagles could make his league bow for Oldham.

The 33-year-old signed a one-year deal with Oldham last month and is in contention to start at Forest Green.

Oldham will look to bed in a host of new signings in the coming weeks.

Defender Tomas Egert and striker Kielen Adams will both be hoping to feature this weekend.
