New boys set for Wigan debuts against Cardiff

Wigan could give debuts to several players when they take on Cardiff in their Championship opener on Saturday.
Boss Paul Cook has been busy in the transfer market in recent days, bringing in midfielder Joe Williams from Everton and teenage wing-back Dujon Sterling on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The Latics will hope Sterling makes a similar impact to last year’s loan arrival from Stamford Bridge, Reece James, who was named player of the year.
Goalkeeper David Marshall and midfielder Lewis Macleod are the Latics’ other summer signings so far, while 17-year-old Joe Gelhardt will also hope to be involved.
Cardiff boss Neil Warnock is targeting a ninth promotion of his long career following the Bluebirds’ relegation back to the second tier.
New signings Aden Flint, Curtis Nelson, Will Vaulks, Gavin Whyte and Robert Glatzel will all be hoping to start.
The impact of Glatzel will draw particular focus after Cardiff paid FC Heidenheim more than £5million for his services.
Defender Sol Bamba will miss the match as he continues to work his way back from a knee ligament injury suffered last season while Gary Madine is a doubt after picking up an injury during the pre-season friendly against Nice.
