Pele leaves Paris hospital after receiving medical clearance

Brazil legend Pele was released from a Paris hospital on Monday after receiving treatment for a urinary infection, having been taken in last Wednesday.

The three-time world champion was admitted to the hospital following an event that he attended with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

"Thanks to the great love of the team of doctors at the American Hospital in Paris, I am ready to travel home," read a statement released by Pele's advisers.

"France does not only have great players, but also excellent doctors."

Another PSG forward, Neymar, also visited his compatriot at the hospital and took to social media to share a picture with a smiling Pele on his hospital bed.
