Michy Batshuayi has agreed terms with Crystal Palace
MICHY BATSHUAYI has joined Crystal Palace after Chelsea priced rivals Tottenham out of a deal.
The Blues demanded an incredible £8million loan fee from Spurs after offering the Belgian to West Ham for just £2m earlier in the day.
Now, with Mauricio Pochettino priced out, Batshuayi has linked up with Roy Hodgson's Eagles.
Batshuayi's loan deal at La Liga Valencia was cut short this month after his performances were criticised.
And Palace managed to get a deal over the line - almost 90 minutes past the deadline - after asking for extra time.
Batshuayi paid tribute to Valencia fans on Twitter after the Palace move was confirmed.
He said: "I'm sorry it didn't work out between us, and I wish you all the best by the end of the season. This city and this stadium deserve a team in its best way.
"Thank you very much for your support and for those who believed in me."
Earlier today, Tottenham refused to pay what they considered to be an excessive fee and the Hammers turned down Batshuayi over his £170,000-a-week wages.
Batshuayi signed in for Chelsea in the summer of 2016 for £33m, but has been on loan since January last year at Borussia Dortmund and then Valencia.
However, he struggled mightily this term with just three goals in 23 matches at the Spanish club.
