Idrissa Gueye wants out
Idrissa Gueye has asked Everton to let him leave and join Paris Saint-Germain, say the Daily Mail.
The French champions had a £21.5million bid rejected for the Senegal midfielder this week and it is claimed Everton value him at nearer £40m.
But Gueye is said to have written a letter to Everton, albeit without making an official transfer request.
PSG are expected to return with a second bid.
Rafa on the brink
Rafael Benitez has been tipped to walk away from Newcastle if he cannot strengthen his Magpies squad once again.
The Spanish boss is out of contract in the summer and a lack of finances sees the north east club firmly in the relegation fight.
Asked about his future, Benitez said: "No, I cannot guarantee anything. I guarantee I will be focused and try to do my best every minute.
"We will wait until Thursday and see what happens. Hopefully we can get three points against Manchester City and then everybody will be happy.
"I came here and I decided to stay in the Championship because I can see the potential of the club. I will try to do my best until the last minute.”

Guardiola admits Kompany uncertainty
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany's long-term future with the club is yet to be decided.
The Belgian's contract runs out at the end of the season.
City boss Pep Guardiola said: "I think it's an issue that we have to speak with Vincent about - the club, him and his agent.
"We don't have any doubts about his quality, we miss him when he is not able to play. He's important, he is our captain and on the field he gives us extra that few central defenders around the world can give us.
"He's incredible - but the reality is in the last five years he's played few, really few. So that is the situation we have to put on the table and the club will discuss it with his agent and make the best solution for both."

Emery on Arsenal plans
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is hoping to sign two players before the transfer window shuts.
When asked how many players he hopes to sign before the end of the window, Emery said: “Nil or possibly two. Between nil and two.
"If they aren’t coming to help us like we want, then we would prefer them to not come. Two because we are looking at two different players who have the possibility to come here.
"I don’t know because this transfer window is not easy. I know the club is doing all they can to achieve one player to help us.
"No [I wouldn’t be disappointed if no signings], because we were speaking about these possibilities two months ago but we know it’s not easy.”

Chelsea deal fell through
Chelsea were in for Leandro Paredes this month, however, the deal fell through, Sky Sports man Dharmesh Sheth claims.
Sheth said: “This is a difficult one because Sarri has spoken publicly about the fact that he needs to bring in someone because they are a bit light in that area and he has mentioned to Marina Granovskaia that this is the situation and he’s left it in their hands.
"There was talk of [Nicolo] Barella and of course [Luciano] Paredes but the Barella one went cold for a while.
"The Parades one was the one that looked likely at one point.”
