Watford vs Brighton - Doucoure available for Watford but Deulofeu misses opening game
Posted Friday, August 10, 2018 by PA
Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is fit to face Brighton despite only recently recovering from appendicitis.
But winger Gerard Deulofeu will miss the Premier League opener due to a minor abdominal problem.
Tom Cleverley is still recovering from an Achilles operation and Nathaniel Chalobah is short of match fitness.
Brighton will be without new signing Florin Andone and winger Jose Izquierdo for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Watford.
Romanian forward Andone is recovering from a groin injury, while Colombia international Izquierdo has been given extra time to build his fitness following his involvement at the World Cup.
Albion could hand debuts to a number of new players at Vicarage Road, including £17million club record signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh, while last season’s top scorer Glenn Murray will be fit to feature after shaking off knocks to his back and neck.
