Jimmy Ryan (knee) and Ryan McLaughlin (hamstring) are both doubts for interim boss Terry McPhillips.
Gary Bowyer stunned the Tangerines on Monday when he quit one game into the season.
Donervon Daniels rejoined the club on a free on Thursday but the game may come too soon.
Portsmouth look set to be without Nathan Thompson who has a knee problem.
Pompey manager Kenny Jackett has no other injury issues and may introduce a new signing.
Winger David Wheeler joined on loan from QPR this week and could make his debut.
Portsmouth started the season with a 1-0 win against Luton, while Blackpool drew 0-0 with Wycombe.
