Spurs sweat over star trio's fitness

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino revealed Harry Kane, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen all face late fitness tests ahead of their clash with Everton.
Spurs take on the Toffees in the Premier League on Sunday and may have to do without their leading goal scorer and both first-choice centre backs, but Pochettino is still hoping they will be past fit.
"They are doubts for Sunday. We need to wait until tomorrow to assess them, then take the decision," the Argentine mentor told Sky Sports.
"The first moment [Kane got injured] he said it was good. When after a few minutes he tried, I asked, and in that moment we made two changes. He said 'I am okay'.
"But at the end of the game, when it got cold, it appeared more painful. But I trust that he can play Sunday. But if not, if he is a risk, he will not be in the squad."
On Vertonghen he added: "Jan was injured. He worked very hard to try to be fit and play as soon as possible. He played against Fulham, and Gent, then it was a caution because he was a little bit tired.
"We trust he will arrive to play on Sunday but he is still a doubt because we need to assess tomorrow. He is in a good position like Harry and Toby. I trust tomorrow all the tests will be positive and he can be available to play."
