Barcelona are looking to hijack Arsenal's move for Juventus boss Masimiliano Allegri
ARSENAL could miss out on Masimiliano Allegri their number one target to replace Arsene Wenger after Barcelona entered the race for the Juventus boss.
Arsene Wenger's 21-year association with Arsenal could end this summer and Allegri has been in advanced talks with Emirates paymasters about moving to the capital.
The 67-year-old is yet to sign a two-year extension to his contract leading to the belief that he could be preparing to make way for some fresh ideas to take over.
But the Gunners plans could come underdone if Barcelona firm up their interest in Allegri who is close to their sporting director Ariedo Braida.
The pair worked together in Milan and Braida has sounded Allegri, 49, out about his plans for next season a sign that he is an option to take over at the Nou Camp.
Barca are set to sack Luis Enrique at the end of the season and have already been looking around Europe to see who is available for one of the highest profile jobs in world football.
They are known to have placed Everton's Ronald Koeman and Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino on their short list of potential replacements for Enrique.
