35,000 Fans In India Planning To Wear Zidane Masks In Protest Against Marco Materazzi

We're a sucker for a weird and wonderful story and today's pick comes from the Indian Super League where fans of Kerala Blasters are plotting the most outrageous protest.
On Saturday, they take on Chennaiyin in the South Indian derby and their arch-rivals are managed by former Italy defender Marco Materazzi.
Materazzi is one of football's biggest pantomime villains for the famous incident in the 2006 World Cup final with Zinedine Zidane and he also grinded the gears of Blasters fans after he was involved in a touchline spat in the last meeting between the two sides.
So Kerala fans have come up with the idea to distribute 35,000 Zinedine Zidane masks to get back at him in the big game at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
These are what the masks look like.

Blasters supporter Abdul Hadhi wanted to ensure the protest was peaceful and so came up with the plan.
"We want to send a message to Materazzi.
"And we thought long and hard about how we can do it as fans sitting in the stands.
"We want to protest against the violence but want to do it as peacefully as possible."
Let's just hope that none of the fans channel their inner Zidane and try and head-butt the former Inter Milan defender.
