Chris Smalling shared this childhood snap on social media
Chris Smalling took to social media on Friday to share a picture of himself as a young child in the name of charity.
The Manchester United defender posted the picture of himself above on his Instagram account as part of the #WhenIWas5 initiative designed to raise money for Unicef.
Smalling shared the picture on his personal account and wrote: “#WhenIWas5 What a smile! Join @unicef_uk & @effcharity to #BeatDisease and keep children safe from malaria”
Smalling is now on international duty with England ahead of this weekend’s friendly clash with the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
Smalling scored four goals in 25 Premier League games for United in his first season under new manager Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford as the Red Devils secured a top-four finish.
The England international was part of two of United’s title-winning squads under Sir Alex Ferguson following his move to the Manchester club from Fulham in 2010.
Smalling has already racked up 148 appearances for United in his five-year United career so far, scoring nine goals in all competitions.
