Chelsea face a fight with former manager Carlo Ancelotti over Cruzeiro star Lucas Silva, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the hottest properties in South American football and La Liga side Real Madrid are eager to land the midfielder in January.
Unlike recent midfield signings Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, Silva is naturally a deep-lying playmaker, eager to shield the defence behind him.
Silva has featured in 19 of Cruzeiro's top-flight matches this season, helping them to the top of the table and chipping in with a rare goal.
Marca claims Chelsea have been monitoring the player's development since the summer.
