Posted Sunday, August 11, 2013 by PA
James Keatings scored the only goal of the game as Hamilton got their season underway with a 1-0 win at Raith.
Raith striker Calum Elliot had the game's first chance on 20 minutes but his right-footed effort was well saved by Kevin Cuthbert.
Hamilton's first opportunity came minutes later when Grant Gillespie and Keatings worked an opening for Alister Crawford, who fired just wide. David McGurn then saved a Crawford free-kick as the visitors started to get the upper hand.
The Accies started the second half brightly and almost hit the front through Darian MacKinnon, whose shot fizzed over the top.
Keatings won the game for Hamilton midway through the half witha right-footed shot into the top-left corner.
