New Zealand pace bowler Neil Wagner reflected on the first day's play of the second Test in Centurion, which saw South Africa on 283 for 3 at stumps on Saturday (27th August).

"Yeah, I think there is a lot of assistance in the wicket. I think there's a bit of movement still around. I think we didn't really start too well with the ball and then later on started bowling better. We pride ourselves on being a really good unit, a good bowling unit and we didn't really do the things we always say we are going to do - bowl in partnerships for long periods of time, to try and get rewards. And we didn't really do that. And when we did come back and did sort of do that I thought South Africa batted really well and full credit to them in trying circumstances they showed a lot of patience. They left well and they played the ball really late. A lot of nicks went square of the wicket and didn't really carry. So credit to their guys who batted really well I thought, in those conditions".
