Croatia's Sandra Perkovic spoke on Wednesday (17th August) after she won gold in the women's discus at the 2016 Olympics.

(On what she remembers about her winning throw):
"I had big emotions when I realised that I threw 69.21 m that I will become an Olympic champion before my last throw. I was going in the circle and I wanted to give me best and I wanted to throw 70 metres but I couldn't made it. But my heart was so big and I started crying and I remembered what I have done in the past four years, so a lot of emotion at that moment for me."

(On her aspirations for the next four years):
"My next goal in the (next) four years (is to) win a gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. I am going there, be healthy and in this shape so that I can defend my title there also. Every year we have all goals, for instance the next World Championship in London, where I won my first Olympic gold, so I want to go there. I want to won the European Championship in Berlin because I have been four years European champion. Every year there are big events and I want the gold in all of them."

(On what she will be doing for the rest of the season):
"Here I have achieved everything that I dreamed about and won a gold medal in my second Olympic Games. Now I am a double Olympic champion and I have to admitted that it was a little bit stressful because I was unbeaten this season, so it was like a little bit pressure. But, after this competition, I am 100 percent relaxed. I have three more meets and I will enjoy those three meets."
