Part-time rally driver, Britain's Kris Meeke won the Rally of Finland, by 29 seconds from local man Jari-Matti Latvala on Sunday (31st July)
Northern Ireland's Kris Meeke overcame the challenge of the favoured Scandinavian drivers to win the Rally of Finland.
Meeke became the first British driver to win at the home of the sport, and only the sixth non-Scandinavian winner in the rally's 65-year history.
The 37-year-old led almost every kilometre of the four-day gravel encounter in his Citroen DS 3 for the Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team.
Meeke has won both the rounds he has entered this season despite being a part-time rally driver.
Craig Breen made it two Citreon's on the podium as he secured third and his maiden podium, An emotional Breen spoke afterwards whilst alluding to the late Colin McRae, a former World Champion from Scotland.
Jari-Matti Latvala, bidding for his third consecutive victory in the FIA World Rally Championship's fastest round could only manage second.
Latvala finished 29.1 seconds behind in a Volkswagen Polo R, his progress dented by a puncture on day one.
