Reaction from Misbah ul-Haq following England's 330-run victory over Pakistan in the second Test at Old Trafford in Manchester on Monday (25th July).
SOUNDBITE: (English) Misbah ul-Haq, Pakistan captain:
(on England's performance and the disappointing nature of Pakistan's batting)
"Well, clearly I think England played really well. The toss was really vital on this pitch, but after that, the way they batted first day and then second day, (Alastair) Cook and (Joe) Root, they almost took the game away from us and after that it's really difficult when the opposition score 600 runs. It's really difficult to come back in the game and our batting was really a big disappointment. That was really a good pitch to bat on, but scores of 198 and then 200-something in the second innings, you just can't take that. On a pitch like that, I think you can score 350-plus, even if you're batting second, even if you're batting fourth."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Misbah ul-Haq, Pakistan captain:
(on not having an all-rounder in the side and Mohammad Hafeez not being able to bowl)
"Yeah, that's the limitations we have. We don't have all-rounders and if Hafeez is not bowling, especially on a pitch like that, that would have made a difference, especially if the opposition are having four or five left-handers in the side. But this is all we have to live with at the moment, until we have the option of a fifth bowler."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Misbah ul-Haq, Pakistan captain:
(on leg spinner Yasir Shah's performance in this Test, compared with his ten wickets at Lord's)
"Maybe a bit of tiredness from the first Test, where he bowled a lot of overs, I don't know. I think there was a big difference in this match than the previous one. But we know, he's a strong character and before the next Test he will definitely analyse what went wrong and just come back."
