-
Play was temporarily halted in New Zealand's tour match against Zimbabwe A in Harare on Saturday (23rd July) by a swarm of bees.
1. 00:00 SOUNDBITE: (English) Mitchell Santner, New Zealand all-rounder:
"Yeah, a little bit interesting. A swarm of bees floated across in front of the sightscreen there and I saw hit Boulty (Trent Boult) hit the deck pretty early and from there everybody else seemed to hit the deck but I was the only one standing, I think you'll find. They were quite far away so I don't know why everyone was on the ground but, yeah, it was a bit weird. We had to stop play for a bit but I think they moved on and carried on."
Q - Is that the first time that's happened to you on a cricket field?
"Yeah, I can't say it's happened to me before. I don't know, it might not be the last but it was pretty interesting."

4. 00:28 SOUNDBITE: (English) Mitchell Santner, New Zealand all-rounder:
"Yeah, I don't know. I don't know why everyone was kind of on the ground. The bees were quite faraway from everyone, they were pretty much next to the sightscreen so it was a good 60 metres away so I didn't feel I was in too much danger, to be fair."
