Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur believes his side are in control after they stretched ahead on the third day of the first Test against England at Lord's on Saturday (16th July). Misbah ul-Huq's side reached 214 for 8 in their second innings at stumps, an overall lead of 281.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Mickey Arthur, Pakistan coach: (on the state of the game and how important Sunday will be)
"I'd like to say I think we might just be - just be in front. I think it's very close. Almost too close to call. I think we're in for a cracking day's cricket tomorrow, I really do. If we can sneak ourselves another 19 or 20, get ourselves just over 300 (ahead), it's going to be a really good Test match."
Question: 'Who made the decision to promote Yasir (Yasir Shah) to number eight in the second innings?'
"Misbah (Pakistan captain Misbah ul-Haq) had a chat to me about it and that was principally because Moeen (England spinner Moeen Ali) was bowling at the time and we didn't want him to be bowling to the left handers... with (Mohammad) Amir. So, a good call in the end and hopefully he can whittle away and we can get another 19 or 20, as I''ve said, and get ourselves 300 ahead."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Mickey Arthur, Pakistan coach: (on fast bowler Mohammad Amir, who has returned to the Pakistan side after serving a ban for spot fixing, and whether he has got over his 'first game back' nerves)
"Yeah I think he has. I thought his second, third and fourth spells were very good, particularly his third spell. His third spell was probably his best spell, the one he got Alastair Cook in. He hit his areas more often then not and did a really good job at good pace. So hopefully he can take that into tomorrow. Everything that has gone has gone now, he's back out on the field and hopefully he can bowl us to victory."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Mickey Arthur, Pakistan coach: (on leg spinner Yasir Shah and his importance in England's second innings)
"I think we saw there was a little on offer (from the pitch). Moeen (Ali) turned... the one that got Younis Kahan I think gripped quite big, so there was a lot on offer. A little bit up and down, a little bit of variable bounce as well, which is great, so yeah, I hope it will assist Yasir in a big way."
