"This was a very convincing performance. There was no let-up at all really. To come out and perform like that, given there wasn't a great deal on the game, I think sums up the desire in the group."

"We have a great deal of variation in our attack. The guys took on responsibility really well. I suppose if we went in with three right-armers and all around the same pace it would be quite difficult not to have an extra seamer or somebody who did something different but I thought we made strides throughout this series, particularly when the ball wasn't doing a great deal. We came up with different ways of trying to take wickets and we'll continue to do so because it will get harder against higher-ranked teams."

"Improvements to be made? I think we're always striving to improve. I don't think you can rest on your laurels regarding how you're doing. We played well but we still have to make improvements, particularly with our fielding. I think with the bat the top order have been outstanding and Jos (Buttler) obviously, at the end, has been unbelievable. And our bowlers, as ever, are trying to find different skills, improving on their own skills to take wickets throughout the innings."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Man-of-the-match, England batsman/wicket-keeper Jos Buttler
"Knowing that Adil (Rashid) is at number 11, a fantastic batsman as well, it gives you that licence to push your gamble button and try to kick on a bit quicker a earlier. I think you see that right from the guys who bat ahead of me as well - from the 30-over mark, we're up at around 180. That's given us chances to go and score as many as we can in those 20 overs and it does give you a lot of confidence to take your options on. It doesn't mean you're trying to pass your responsibility, but it's good to know that there are guys behind you who can pick up the baton and go with it as well."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews
"For the past two months we've been having the same problems, either batting, bowling or fielding has let us down in every single game and especially in the in the one-dayers we needed a perfect day to win against the English team but, unfortunately, we didn't have that perfect game and we paid the price. Congratulations to the English boys, the way they played they put us under a lot of pressure and didn't give us the slightest of chances. They played better cricket and they outplayed us in all three departments."

"A few years back they were in the same situation as us, a rebuilding phase and they have stuck to their plans, they've stuck to their players for the past six to eight months and now you can see the results. They've been improving day-by-day and over the past six months they've been playing some fantastic cricket."

"There will be good times as well as bad. This is a tough time for me as a captain and for the whole unit but you can't run away from it. You have to deal with the issues. You got to come out of it. FortunateIy, I have a good bunch of players who support me throughout and I'm pretty sure if we keep improving day-by-day we can come out of this hole as soon as possible."
