-
Reaction from Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy and Angelo Mathews to England's series-clinching six-wicket win against Sri Lanka at the Oval on Wednesday.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka captain:
(on defeat)
"Yeah, I mean half way through you know I was pretty happy with what we had on the score. I thought we just had enough to do some good fielding and good bowling, but unfortunately it turned out either bowling, batting or fielding has let us down in every game, and that is disappointing. I mean the bowlers were once again not up to the mark, got so many casualties on the field and once again every single game there has been one going down and you know today was the same again in Suranga Lakmal pulling his hamstring so it was disappointing overall."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka captain:
(on defeat)
"Yeah, we needed our top three to fire today, and to be in the series we had to win this game and we had to put up a good performance especially with the bat. We've not been getting those three hundreds in the past three games so we had to put in a big effort. Unfortunately for us, the top order fired, they set us (a) good platform for you know myself and (Dinesh) Chandimal to go out there and you know express ourselves."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka captain:
(On Jason Roy)
"It was one of the top knocks, you know it was one of the best I've seen in the recent past. And you know it was a very good pitch, but you had to you know play yourself on that and it was really coming through and you know Jason just batted brilliantly."
