Reaction from England all-rounder Chris Woakes and Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batsman Kaushal Silva after the second day's play in the third Test at Lord's on Friday (10th June).
SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Woakes, England all-rounder: (on how difficult it's going to be to try and force a positive result)
"Yeah, it's obviously going to be tough. They've obviously batted well today as well, but yeah, it's a good pitch, it's obviously flattened out today, more than it was yesterday. I thought they actually bowled pretty well yesterday. The ball moved a bit off the seam yesterday, whereas it hasn't done as much today. But yeah, you saw some funky fields there. I think Jimmy (Anderson) was bowling to a field which he pretty much had in the UAE (against Pakistan), so yeah, it is going to be tough, but that's Test cricket, it's always hard. You've got to adapt to the conditions and we're going to have to do that tomorrow."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Woakes, England all-rounder: (on frustrations with teammates and Jonny Bairstow's work ethic)
"I think at the time you're obviously really frustrated when anybody drops a catch, but you know I think with Jonny today in particular, we know how hard he's working on his 'keeping, I've never seen anyone work as hard as he does, both with his batting, which obviously he is excelling, and with his 'keeping. He does so much work with Bruce French, he's always first in, last out, so, you know, he's obviously giving his best, 110 per cent and that's all you can ask for from your teammates."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Chris Woakes, England all-rounder: (on his highest Test score - 66 - and first Test fifty in a partnership of 144 for the seventh wicket with Jonny Bairstow)
"Yeah, it's nice to get out in the middle and spend some time. This season in particular, I've batted well, back at the county, Warwickshire, I've felt like I've hit the ball well, and in good rhythm with the bat, so you know, it's good to bring that here and show what I can do, bat a reasonable length of time and put on a good partnership with Jonny."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Kaushal Silva, Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman: (on having a positive mind set chasing a first innings score of more than four hundred)
"I think it was very important, you know, to set the tone and get a good start. We were always, you know, even in the second innings of the Durham Test, I think we were batting really well, so we wanted to set the tone for the innings, have a good partnership early in our innings."
