Reaction after England finished the first day of the Third Test on 279 for 6 against Sri Lanka at Lord's on Thursday (9th June) - the centrepiece of their innings being an unbeaten century from Jonny Bairstow.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Jonny Bairstow, England:
(asked about his reaction to his century after being dismissed for 95 against South Africa at Lord's in 2012)
"Why didn't I do it four years ago, I think. It was five runs that loomed over me for a few years and many people had speculations about can he, can't he, this that and the other so it's nice to kind of put the record straight a little bit and say, yep - I'm happy with the way I'm playing at the moment. There's been a lot of talk about my technique over however many years but at the moment I'm pleased with the way I'm striking the ball, I'm pleased with the way that I'm moving."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Jonny Bairstow, England:
"If the clouds are in tomorrow it could be a completely different wicket. Until both teams have batted on it, we don't know what a par score is. But we know if we go out there tomorrow, we know how important the first hour is, the first two overs, three overs, ten overs. If you can get yourself in, we know at Lord's it can be a fantastic place to bat and when we do come to bowl we've got the bowling attack that knows how to bowl at Lord's and knows hot to bowl and get wickets at Lord's. So that's an exciting place for us to be in tomorrow."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Rangana Herath, Sri Lanka:
"We need to come back and do well tomorrow morning. We need to play very well, I mean especially in the first session, in the first hour so we need to get them out as soon as possible."
