SOUNDBITE: (Urdu) Waqar Younis, Pakistan head coach (on his regret at the current situation)
"I'm leaving with a heavy heart. Please remember this, I am obviously hurt because I didn't hope such a situation would take place, but what can we do? They (Pakistan Cricket Board) were looking to make me a scapegoat, so it was important for me that I should go with respect."
SOUNDBITE: (Urdu) Waqar Younis, Pakistan head coach (on his frustration with the Pakistan Cricket Board)
"My aim was to correct things. I had to try my level best to make sure my recommendations would be fulfilled. I also gave these recommendations in 2015 and nothing happened on it. So I protested at that time. Now I'm resigning because our country (the team) is starting to be defamed. It is being highlighted in the media. So I think it (this situation) should be closed for some time and we should look forward.
