West Indies skipper Stefanie Taylor and Australia captain Meg Lanning comment after the West Indies dethroned Australia as the Women's ICC WT20 champions with an eight-wicket win at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, India on Sunday (03rd April).
SOUNDBITE: (English) Stefanie Taylor, West Indies captain (on when the win will sink in):
"I think when you wake up in the morning and there no cricket to go and play, and when i look at my trophy and I...is this real?..So you know when you touch down in the Caribbean that's when it's going to hit you. I know we are going to have a lot of people there, cameras and everything, so I think that's the time it's going to hit you and you are going to realize that you have won a World Cup."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Stefanie Taylor, West Indies captain (on what she discussed with Hayley Mathews before their innings):
"Well..it's funny we never discussed the total. We didn't get the start that we actually wanted. The first three overs we only scored like three runs. It was good to actually keep wickets in hand and we just said that we could do this. Just stay here and bat through really."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Meg Lanning, Australia captain (on Hayley Mathews' innings):
"We have seen bits and pieces of her, she is very talented that's for sure. She had a good series against us couple of years ago and played well for Hobart Hurricanes as well. Wasn't a surprise, we didn't want her to do it today. But she played exceptionally well and was pretty hard to stop."
