McLaren-Honda launch 2016 Formula One challenger - the MP4-31 - on Sunday

McLaren-Honda chose an online launch for this season's new Formula One car .

Dismal results last year forced the team to make what they called a "significant number of innovations" for the MP4-31.

This year's car is an evolution of last year's chassis, which was one of the more competitive on the grid but was restricted by the Honda power-unit's lack of performance.

The chasis, they say, integrates "elegant aerodynamic solutions" with a new Honda power unit developed exclusively for the team.

And the Japanese company has made changes to the engine's energy-recovery system.

McLaren was only better than Marussia last year - Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button scoring 27 points between them.

Button will be hoping for much better things when he's the first behind the wheel of the new car for pre-season testing in Barcelona on Monday.
