Jaguar announce their return to the motorsport world as the car manufacturer joins the Formula E Championship.

"We looked at a number of different opportunities for the brand to return to motorsport, but the FIA Formula E Championship we thought was an incredibly relevant championship for Jaguar and where we are at this point in time. It has really kind of tangible benefits for what we plan to do in the future, with our development of road cars and it gives us a great test bid to develop and learn from both an efficiency and a performance point of view about EV (Electronic Vehicle) powertrains. It's also a championship which has been incredibly well received, it's had a great introduction, it's gaining a lot of interest, and the FIA and Formula E have some great plans and to continue to also make the series appeal to manufacturers like us. So we believe it's a great place to be to bring the brand to the heart of our future audiences in city centres. Yeah, it's a unique model which we think is very exciting."
