Russian pole vaulter, Yelena Isinbayeva, doping allegations
Script: SOUNDBITE: (Russian) Yelena Isinbayeva, Russian pole vaulter:
"I think that this situation should be investigated individually - each specific case of every single athlete who took doping, who was disqualified. Please, be responsible for your actions. They personally, their trainers, their doctors who advised them - that (doping) should be examined. But what do we have to do with that? Why should we be responsible for their actions, for their dark deeds?"SOUNDBITE: (Russian) Yelena Isinbayeva, Russian pole vaulter:
"If there is ever a direct accusation against me, believe me, I will go to any court (meaning will sue the accuser), I will undergo any tests to prove that I have never used anything (meaning doping). On top of that I will charge so much money, that they (accusers) will work their whole life for me."SOUNDBITE (Russian) Anna Chicherova, high jumper:
"I hope that we will manage everything somehow in a short period of time and restore our reputation. Anyway, we are suspended so there are conditions under which we can restore this reputation. Vitaly Leontyevich (Mutko, Russian Sport Minister) has assured that there are several ways out of the situation. Hopefully we will be given the chance to compete at the Olympics in Rio."SOUNDBITE (Russian) Yelena Isinbayeva, Russian pole vaulter:
"As to the competing under the Olympic flag, this is really being discussed in the sport circles. Svetlana Zhurova (Russian speed skater and lawmaker) has also suggested this idea recently, but I don't know if it's really possible at all. Anyway, I believe that at the Olympic Games in Rio we will represent our country and the anthem out our country will be played in honour of us."
