"For me this was a big day for me because this is my big grace to win among the big six in the world I am happy I won the New York City."
SOUNDBITE (English) Mary Keitany, NYC Marathon Women's Winner:
"I feel good. I'm very excited. I'm happy for winning again this year the New York City marathon. It was amazing for me and I thank God for this opportunity and I'm really happy and I appreciate my fans in New York."
SOUNDBITE (English) Ernst van Dyk, NYC Marathon Men's Wheelchair Winner:
"Well, I think for being second the last two years in a row I figured I had to do something different and so for the last three months I worked really hard and I did a lot of specific training for this course and I mean it was tough out there. The race was a battle back and forth I got dropped twice I had to come back and then take that sprint against Josh George who is the current marathon world champion so it took a lot but it paid off and I was really really happy."
SOUNDBITE (English) Tatyana McFadden, NYC Marathon Women's Wheelchair Winner:
"It was definitely an amazing day. It was tail wind for the first 20 miles and so I knew I had to hit that first climb pretty hard and hit the downhill pretty hard. I was feeling really good on the climb so I just kept going my pace and going stronger and stronger and stronger and it got really tough when I went into the park. It was a straight headwind for about six miles on the way to the finish but it was actually a perfect day yesterday. Perfect day perfect weather conditions couldn't ask for a better day."
