BMW driver Maxime Martin snatched his first DTM victory of the season in race one at the Nurburgring on Saturday (26th September).

Championship leader Pascal Wehrlein went into race one of the DTM at Nurburgring looking to consolidate his position at the top of the standings.

And he made a promising start - until he clashed with Maxime Martin on the very first turn.

Another incident further back saw the race red flagged, resulting in a delay of 30 minutes.

When the action resumed, Martin quickly established a lead - eventually opening a gap of nearly six seconds to claim his his first DTM victory of the season.

Edoardo Mortara claimed second place - after Bruno Spengler suffered damage to his BMW late on.

Wehrlein finished in third - that was enough to extend his championship lead to 27 points.
