SuggestedLeadIn: Motorsport legends Derek Bell and Jochen Mass spoke about Formula One at a vintage car show in California.
Script: SOUNDBITE: (English) Derek Bell, five-times Le Mans 24 hours winner
"Hamilton can do it. I think he will win it. I think he is maturing as a driver immensely, not making silly mistakes, and I think it's very difficult at the top of Formula One. The disappointing thing has been the competition from the other teams which I think is coming on. We've seen Ferrari go very well in certain conditions. I don't know what the next race is but I think by the time you get to Monza, which can't be far away, I think the Ferrari will be going really well."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Jochen Mass, Mercedes-Benz historic car driver (on the battle between Hamilton and Rosberg)
"Well, thank God we have it. There were days in the past when we didn't have it because it was written in the contracts who was number one, we know that happened more than once, and it's very open and I think the two competing with each other - Hamilton is more relaxed because he won the second title. He's a pretty free spirit, he's a wonderful guy. I really love him. But so is Rosberg, he's a lovely kid, he's a bit tense at the moment because he wants to win the title and he needs to win, in a way, too. And that's why it's a bit difficult. But apart from that, of course you have Ferrari which is slowly gaining a little bit of ground and Vettel is doing very good again, after all he's four times world champion. And of course you have the Red Bulls which fell back a little bit and Ricciardo is trying very hard."
