Sebastien Bourdais pulled away following a late caution to win the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 on Sunday (12 July) at the Milwaukee Mile, his second victory of the season.

    Script:

The IndyCar series stopped in Wisconsin to run the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250.

Josef Newgarden had the top qualifying run to claim his first career pole.

There were just three cautions on the afternoon, the first coming 113 laps in when James Jakes had his car spewing smoke due to mechanical failure.

There was a dangerous moment in the pits soon after, when series point leader Juan Pablo Montoya almost hit Tony Kanaan's crew member, missing him by centimetres.

The one wreck in the race came on lap 131.

Ryan Briscoe suddenly started spinning and collected Will Power, with both slamming hard into the wall in Turn 4.

The wreck left Power finishing in 22nd place and dropped him to fifth in the driver standings.

Sebastien Bourdais was dominating before the final caution flag came out on Lap 222 after Justin Wilson's car stalled.

The Frenchman then held on when racing resumed for an 18-lap sprint to the finish, turning aside a brief challenge from second-place Helio Castroneves to win by 2.2 seconds over the Brazilian.

Graham Rahal rounded out the podium, taking third.

Bourdais collected his fifth Indy car victory on an oval - his first since winning at The Milwaukee Mile in 2006 - and 34th win overall.
