With F1 taking a weekend off between the Spanish and Monaco Grands Prix, the Toro Rosso driver was in Valkenburg in his native Netherlands to participate in a soap box derby,

...and there were certainly some interesting sights and some hairy moments...

17-year-old sat Belgian-Dutch Formula One driver Max Verstappen is heading to Monaco with a bruise on his bottom.

He was behind the wheel of a miniature car and headed cautiously over the jumps, constantly tugging on the handbrake.

The final jump, however, damaged the car and clearly rattled Verstappen's backside and knees.
