World number one Rory McIlroy says he plans to celebrate his 26th birthday by attending the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas, America, on Saturday night (UTC).

"You know I guess this fight was supposed to happen in March 2010. I went to Pacquiao-(Ricky) Hatton in 2009 and then I think Mayweather fought (Shane) Mosely later in the year and they were supposed to fight the next year and it never happened. So sort of been waiting five years for this to happen and I always said if these two guys fought each other I wouldn't miss the opportunity to go. Luckily we're somewhere close where I can get in and out and hopefully I'm still a part of this tournament at that time, but it just wasn't an opportunity that I was gonna miss."
