The second edition of the China World Summit Wing Hotel Vertical Run took place on Sunday morning in Beijing
Starting from the ground floor lobby, runners needed to climb 2041 steps over 82 floors, to a height of 330 meters and finish at the rooftop of the building.
Piotr Lobodzinski from Poland was first across the line in just over 10 minutes to take the gold.
While in the women's race, defending champion Suzy Walsham of Australia won the title again.
Although both were left a little disappointed - the weather taking away what is normally a breathtaking view.
SOUNDBITE (English) Piotr Lobodzinski, Poland, winner of men's Elite race:
"I have seen this (gold medal) last year. It's very nice to be here. It's pity that the view is not beautiful because last year after the competition we can see all the landscape of Beijing. Now it's impossible, but I know it (Beijing) is beautiful. Now after the race and tomorrow, I am going to maybe visit the Forbidden city."
SOUNDBITE (English) Suzy Walsham, Australia, winner of women's Elite race:
"Well, I knew the weather because I could see from my hotel but last year we had amazing weather and the view from up here was really amazing. So it's a little bit sad to go all that effort and not seeing a nice view but I know what it looks like from last year and just to win it again is fantastic."
