Liverpool have been hit by a massive injury crisis going into Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will be without Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan, Joe Gomez and Emre Can for the Champions League quarter final first leg against runaway Premier League leaders City and the Merseyside Derby on Saturday, while Nathaniel Clyne is only just returning for a season long back lay off.
Virgil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson and Alberto Moreno could be the only fully fit defenders available at Anfield on Wednesday.
Cameroon star Matip sustained a thigh problem in Saturday's victory at Crystal Palace and will require an operation.
"Joel (Matip) is out for the rest of the season, no doubt about that. It's very serious," Klopp said ahead of the Champions League match.
"Emre (Can) will at least be very close for tomorrow - but it doesn't look too good.
"Ragnar Klavan is unavailable. If there is a centre-half in the room I am open for talks!"
