Real Madrid reportedly want to sign David de Gea
LIVERPOOL and Arsenal are apparently hoping Real Madrid sign David de Gea in the summer.
Real Madrid have made the Manchester United goalkeeper their top priority as they search for a permanent replacement for Keylor Navas.
President Florentino Perez is said to have grown increasingly frustrated with the Costa Rican's inconsistency.
So the La Liga champions will try to prise De Gea away from United but they know it will be difficult.
If they fail to land their man then Spanish outlet Don Balon say Real will move for Liverpool and Arsenal target Alisson instead.
The Brazilian has been dubbed the 'Lionel Messi of goalkeepers' but is expected to demand a heavy fee for his services.
Liverpool and Arsenal are expected to battle to sign the Roma shot-stopper in the summer after being heavily linked with him throughout January.
But Zinedine Zindane's side enter the race then the two Premier League clubs will not stand a chance against the financial muscle of Real, according to Don Balon.
Los Blancos attempted to sign De Gea in 2015 but the deal broke down in the final hour because of a faulty fax machine.
However, over the international break the keeper hinted that he could stay at United beyond this summer.
"I get more things from England than from here [in Spain]," said De Gea.
"The love is enormous that they give me in England and that's why I do not notice it so much here."
