Real have endured a bitterly disappointing campaign which has left retaining the Champions League as their only hope of securing silverware.
And Florentino Perez is expected to splash some serious cash this summer in a bid to build a squad capable of competing with Barcelona next season.
A whole host of star names have been lined up by the Real president, with a number of high-profile departures on the cards too.
Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently discovered Perez has one eye on the club’s long-term future too though, with a prospective raid on Gremio Novorizontino proof of that.
Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Ronaldo has confided in his inner circle who Real Madrid’s first signing of the summer will be.
They say the player identified by the 33-year-old talisman was Farofa, who’ll cost about £3.2m (€3.7m).
According to Don Balon, sources in Brazil have revealed Perez will wrap up the deal when the transfer window reopens.

Florentino Perez has decided to swoop for Gremio Novorizontino youngster Rodrigo Farofa this summer
But the Real president wants to wait until the forward turns 18 next April before taking him to Madrid.
Farofa, who previously enjoyed a loan spell at Palmeiras, is said to have already agreed a six-year contract with Real.
And he is poised to join their Castilla side when he makes the move to Spain in 2019.
