The La Liga side are currently in Abu Dhabi to defend their Fifa Club World Cup title.
They were forced to come from behind to beat Al Jazeera 2-1, thanks to goals from Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.
But the Portuguese was left raging during the match as a section of supporters were heard yelling: “Messi, Messi, Messi.”
It seemed to get under the 32-year-old’s skin, particularly given the fact he beat the Argentinian to win his fifth Ballon d’Or last week.
Footage taken from the stands of the Sheikh Zayed Stadium shows Ronaldo turning round to the crowd and gesturing with his arms stretched out.
Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy with the Lionel Messi chants
The clip has gone viral since it was posted last night, but it received a mixed reaction from fans.
"Poor guy, swear that happens to him every away match,” one sympathetic user wrote.
Another commented: “He claimed he was the best ever, the fans are just reminding him who is.”
Ronaldo was seen gesturing to fans with his arms outstretched
And a third added: “Forever in the GOAT's shadow.”
The Real superstar will be hoping to add another trophy to his cabinet this weekend as his side look to become the first club to defend their Club World Cup title – a tournament made up of the winners of each continental championship.
Ronaldo has so far struggled for goals in La Liga this season, scoring just four times but he has already notched up nine in the Champions League.
