After recently winning the FIFA 'Best' award in London, Cristiano Ronaldo will tonight complete the double in the individual trophies stakes in 2017.

The Real Madrid star will be crowned the 2017 Ballon d'Or winner in Paris on Thursday on top of the Eiffel Tower.

David Ginola will be there to hand Ronaldo his prize.

By winning the award, Ronaldo will join Leo Messi in winning the Ballon d'Or five times.

Real Madrid's amazing year

The Real Madrid forward guided Real Madrid to the Champions League and La Liga title last season.

Indeed, Los Blancos became the first club to retain the UCL trophy.

It is true, however, that Barcelona's Leo Messi outscored Ronaldo in the Spanish top flight.

Cristiano Ronaldo's family give away the secret

On Thursday morning, Ronaldo's mum and sister have given away the 'not so secret' secret that Cristiano will win the Ballon d'Or.

They've both turned to social media to reveal they are heading to Paris.

Presumably Maria Dolores isn't going to see Leo Messi win the Ballon d'Or...

She's uploaded a photo onto Instagram with the captain: "Ready for another trip to Paris."

Cristiano's sister, Karia Aveiro, has been even more explicit in giving the game away about the Ballon d'Or winner.

She's also posted an image on Instagram of Paris lit up at night.

But the more interesting part of her post were the hashtags she used. They include 'just be happy', 'family departs' while she also reference CR7 and 'records'.
