MARCUS Rashford’s stunning free-kick earned Manchester United a vital win over Celta Vigo in the semi-finals of the Europa League last night.
But the young England man’s 25-yard effort caused chaos on talkSPORT last night after host Ray Wilkins clashed with Sun journalist Neil Custis after claiming the keeper could have done more to stop the strike.
Wilkins, who played for Chelsea and Manchester United before spending two decades coaching, suggested Celta Vigo stopper Sergio Alvarez moved too early, allowing Rashford to power an effort past him and into the far corner.
"If he beats him on the near post, then he beats him,” Wilkins said.
But Custis snapped: “Oh don’t be ridiculous.”

It sparked a fierce back-and-forth between the two men, in which Wilkins snarled: “Don’t talk to me about football knowledge because you don’t have any.
"Who the hell are you?” Custis replied indignantly.
"Why did you just say there that I have no footballing knowledge.
"You’ve rung me up and asked me to come on here and then you start insulting me like that.
"Who the hell are you?”
The young England striker's effort gave United a vital away goal in the 1-0 win
Wilkins eventually apologised for his remarks but Custis refused to move on, accusing the former Aston Villa manager of "boring the listeners to death” with his “nonsense”.
The tetchy exchange has gone viral since the clip was posted on Twitter early this morning, with listeners overwhelmingly siding with Wilkins during the row.
"Another journalist with a ridiculous ego, don't know why you have the guy on,” wrote one user.
Another said: “Curtis turned into a petulant baby! The blokes an utter tool!”
"Completely agree with Ray,” a third added.
United welcome their Spanish rivals back to Old Trafford on Thursday holding a precious 1-0 lead, with the comfort of a vital away goal.
