Ronaldo will still be be one of the best players in FIFA 18 – but fans want to see his stats lowered from FIFA 17
Gamers think EA has made Cristiano Ronaldo too good in FIFA 17 – and want to see the Portuguese's rating downgraded in the next game.
The 32-year-old is the best player in FIFA 17, with his standard gold card boasting an impressive 94 rating.
But this pales in comparison to other updated cards the Real Madrid star received throughout the season.
His very best card, a 99-rated Team of the Year, gives Ronaldo near perfect scores in shooting, pace and dribbling.
But some fans are not happy with the scores – claiming Ronaldo has slowed down in real life and his dribbling has waned.
On a FIFA sub-Reddit, one fan wrote: "Over the past two / three years it's been clear that he has slowed down.
"I'm not in anyway saying his ability has declined, but having been watching the majority of his games this season and a few last season something has been made clear.
"He does not have 92 pace, and he does not have 91 dribbling. He is still clearly a world class player with world class finishing and positioning, but if we are looking at players like Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben who had their pace nuked, surely Ronaldo has to have his downgraded, right?"
This sentiment is echoed by other members of the FIFA community, with some believing Ronaldo will get a downgrade but still be the best player on FIFA 18.
One fan wrote: "He isn't going to suddenly get a huge decrease, that's not how downgrades work unless a player performed really badly (which Ronaldo didn't, he simply played below his normal).
"He'll get a one or two overall downgrade, with maybe three/4four downgrade max on the important stats. He'll still be a top player and probably the best card unless someone else gets a huge upgrade.
"If he has an even worse season next year, I'd say next FIFA will be the last where we'll see him be the best."
So, what should Ronaldo's FIFA 18 scores be?
We've created our own version below – based on what the FIFA community has been saying.
We've given him 89 pace – meaning he's still rapid but not blisteringly fast, while dribbling takes a small hit to 89.
His shooting, especially his brilliant left foot, means he'll likely stay in the 90s for this.
Despite a ratings decrease, he'll still be one of the best around.
