A welcome fit for the champions

The arrival of Real Madrid to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu was spectacular, but the atmosphere was less raucous than on other occasions, for example El Clasico against Barcelona.
That may have something to do with a UEFA directive pertaining to the latter rounds of the Champions League.
A letter was sent to the club to advise that Police would stop supporters from surrounding the square of the Sacred Hearts, which historically gave the arrivals a carnival atmosphere.
The cordon was placed along Concha Espina Street and in the perimeter of Sacred Hearts.
Thousands of Real Madrid supporters still gathered to witness something that is already habitual at the Bernabeu and, despite the remoteness, gave the team a reception worthy of the Champions League.
The tradition is maintained.
