MANCHESTER UNITED star Marcus Rashford knew he was going to score his free-kick to beat Celta Vigo last night, according to Paul Pogba.
The striker’s goal sealed a 1-0 win in the Europa League semi-final but many were surprised he stepped up over the £89m Frenchman.
But Pogba has since revealed the reason why he let his younger teammate take it.
"On the pitch, we don’t look at the age,” he told BT Sport’s Des Kelly after the match.
Paul Pogba revealed what Man United teammate Marcus Rashford said before his epic free-kick
"He’s been doing great all season and we trust him, so we trust him and he took the free-kick.
"He told me he was feeling it and he put it in, so that’s the most important thing.”
Fans watching the impressive performance were quick to compare the youngster to Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe – strongly tipped to join Jose Mourinho’s side.
Rashford's strike was the only goal of the Europa League clash against Celta Vigo
But many claimed they didn’t even need the free-scoring striker – with Rashford an “even better” player.
It wasn’t just the 19-year-old’s goal that caught the eye of viewers.
His response to ex-City star John Guidetti ushering him off the pitch went viral, after telling him to “shh”.
